Droppings
The presence of droppings in your kitchen drawers, cabinets, and cabinet area is the first and most obvious sign of a severe rodent infestation
Soundtracks
Rodent tracks have been found in dust, mud, and gravel. Rat tails may often leave a mark in the field. On the dusty surfaces, mouse tracks can also be seen.
Runways
Every day, rats take the same path to find food, and they do so every night. Rats leave 50 mm wide runway traces in grass or gravel, often next to fences or houses, when doing so.
Burrowing
Burrows can be found all over the place, including along walls, ditches, fences, woodpiles, low vegetation, and concrete slabs, and rats are masters of burrowing.
Grease Stains
Grease traces are left on different surfaces by the oily skin fur of rats.
Sounds
While rats are not noticeable in the dark, their presence can easily be detected by the noises they produce.
Food that has only been partially eaten
Rats leave half-eaten food behind, which can be a tell-tale sign.
Rodents, dead or alive
Rodents are nocturnal, but in a heavily populated environment, some of the lower-ranking rats can hunt during the day. They are unable to obtain food during the night, most likely.
